99 Grand Am Heating problems

hard to explain, when I am giving the car gas, the heater is working blowing heat no problem, when the car is idoling and not in motion the heater is slower, still blows heat but not as well as when the car is moving. any ideas?

Ok, do you mean the fan blows slowr at idle than higher rmps?
or do you mean the temp of the heat goes up and down?

Yes, the fan blows slower when the car is idle, sorry like I said im not the best at describing things on paper.

may hav a altenator thats not working at 100%, could be due to bad connections on the batterys terminals.
Check both them out , and you might want go to a parts store, and see if they can test your charging system to see if its working good. The altenators on these cars is under powerd for all the crap thats needed to operate all the electricl equipment.

Thanks for the tip.... I will try the charging system next time I get a chance to. Its getting summer soon I hope so no need for heat.

If you have a charging problem your going to know it before you need the heat again! Don't put it off, or the car will strand you somewhere when you have something really important to do, then you will be ticked off at the car not realizing its giving you hints to have it fixed.
