Where is the crankshaft position sensor

my buddy's car just wont start. its a 1994 sl1 manual drive. we changed plugs wires pcv valve battery is good. cranks but no start. if we let it sit for hours then turn the key, it pops from around the intae behind the valve cover. ne 1 have an answer

ok well to answer the cps location, it is on the backside of the engine pretty much in back of the starter. its held on by 1 bolt.

now your problem could be a fuel pump, ignition module, coils, once again loads of things. need to test all fuses and relays and check voltage to everything including injector pulse. check for spark. once you start to diagnose it more, i could help more. also it could very well be the coolant sensor, rare but it can cause the car to not start.

check fuel, spark, intake, exhaust, and compression.

the poping noise my be backfiring in the intake, a sign of a clogged exhaust, most likey a bad cat. remove O2 sensor and crank to confirm.
