Talking McLaren F1 and 540i in one garage

Nice:

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/sho...5&postcount=58

On another note did Koenigsegg 7.34 on the Ring

We dont have any official word on McLren ring time?

- What the CCR shows in performance, seems to be from another world.

- No Supertest candidate has gone around the track with such speed as the Swedish "Hammer".

- No one can doubt the engine force and aerodynamic qualities of the Koenigsegg CCR.

- Even with a third of the power to spare, open corners become sharp, and straights become curves, due to the sheer speed of the CCR.

- With a lateral G force of 1.35 the Koenigsegg CCR is on the physical limit of what road legal tires can manage. With racing tires this vehicle would reach racing car levels of grip.

- With 313 km/h over the Döttinger Höhe, 267 Km/h thru the difficult Schwedenkreuz and reaching 224 Km/h just before braking at the end of Zielgarten in Hockenheim are figures recognizable as records.

- Not only does the CCR show text book like behaviour on the limit, shift of load does hardly disturb the car.

- Even sliding with turned of traction control, the car is easy controllable.

- There is no hint of any nervousness in the steering at high speeds.

- The engine is a fantastically user friendly being. The engine characteristics are very similar to a normally aspirated one, since it develops the explosive force evenly over the revband.

- The unusually crisp sounding engine dominates the scene, with the same authority as a Jet engine.

Re: McLaren F1 and 540i in one garage

Interesting picture, but not all that special. 007 is well photographed, and there are more striking shots on the net.

To answer your question:

1. There won't ever be an offical F1 ring time from McLaren -- grow up and find something else to obsess over.
2. We appreciate cars for what they are, and not which has better numbers.
3. I'll kindly refer you to the Koenigsegg sub-forum for all your Koenigsegg posting needs: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...lay.php?f=1612

Re: McLaren F1 and 540i in one garage

amanichen does not speak for all of us.

1. Thank you for the picture. We like any and ALL pictures. Some may be better than others, but we appreciate all contributions.

2. Like you, we appreciate all cars, including the Koenigsegg. It's great that it is setting so many records--truly a superexotic.

3. Please post here whenever you feel like it. We like all cars, and are happy to discuss them in the context of the McLaren, and how some are better than others depending on your criteria. Thanks for the information and the picture--I think they are good contributions.

I am not the official forum spokesperson, so you needn't worry about intruding on my job. I will always speak up if I feel something needs to be said.

Re: McLaren F1 and 540i in one garage

I think it would be entertaining if we all registered for Gustav's board and then posted threads about the 318i in the E60 M5 forum.

I'm sure the forum members there would appreciate that a lot...
