A window problem, '97 glx

I have a '97 glx, 5-speed, just under 75k miles on it. I got it about a month ago and am having a problem with the windows. None of the windows work at all with the switches or the key. I checked the fuse, which is the 20 A right next to the 5 A cruise control fuse (correct me if im wrong on this), which was fine. I have checked the rubber boot in the door and couldnt find any faulty wires there. I have also noticed the cruise control doesn't work and with the fuses right next to each other, it leads me to believe it is a wiring problem rather than a mechanical problem (i also could be wrong though). Has anyone had any similar problems like this? If so, some advice would be very helpful. I dont want to have to break down and take it somewhere, but it looks like i might have to.

If you need more information about my car, just let me know and i will post it.

pull back the carpet in the left trunk and find the styrofoam box. In that is the vacuum pump control module. Check for corrosion on the electrical connector. IF there is the module problably needs replacement.

I didnt see a styrofoam box back there. I did see a bunch of connectors up by the tail light. They seemed to be fine, but i dont know if thats it. Is the box near the front or the back?

its back there, you gotta pull back the carpet to the wheel well.

golf models have it on the passenger side... if you're not from the states maybe its on the right side.

I found the black styrofoam box. It had a few wires and a white tube. I didnt see any corrosion on it.

Re: A window problem, '97 glx

did you disconnect the electrical connector, because the corrosion forms on the side that doesnt have the wires coming out of it.

ALso try disconnecting the connector and see if the problem is still there. If it goes away than the module is bad and needs to be replaced.
