looking for a downpipe..

Can someone help me pick out a downpipe that will bolt on directly and easily to my car.. I have an evo III turbo and then a 2.5" straight pipe in place of the cat so having it bolt up right up front and at the pipe matter, thanks.

http://www.roadraceengineering.com/eclexhaust.htm I will most likely be going with their 2g awd short with a test pipe down the road.

Random eBay brand (ETS?):

Megan:

Other ones between those prices too.

That's a sweet price on the Megan one, but is it the new or old version since the old had massive fitment problems.

Re: looking for a downpipe..

Yeah, it should bolt up just fine. Who cares what your current test pipe is, get a new one. I think you will be much happier with a 3" dp than a 2.5" plus I dont think I have ever seen a 2.5" dp. Also, that Megan might be a cat delete pipe.

Re: looking for a downpipe..

The only mod I have been dissapointed with so far was my Apex N1 downpipe. Off boost I think my car sounds ricey. The catback is badass, but the downpipe just isn't. I would buy a downpipe that eliminates the cat completely though, don't worry about your 2.5" test pipe.

Re: looking for a downpipe..

I bought a Megan DP for $112 shipped off ebay. Unless you're looking for a fight I wouldn't recomend it. I had to drill my o2-downpipe studs out and replace them with the bolts that came with the DP so it would fit. The 1st generation Megan DP were designed to fit with the Evo o2 housing not the 2g..

Re: looking for a downpipe..

I had a very easy time with my megan racing DP, and it eliminated the cat also, sounds great and was pretty cheap too.

Re: looking for a downpipe..

The Megan 2g AWD ones had fitment issues. The other ones were fine. They should be redesigning it soon. And coming out with a cat-back for the 2g AWDs, and an o2 housing and a tubular exhaust manifold.

Re: looking for a downpipe..

Try one of the Ebay knock-offs. Mine fit perfect and sounded pretty descent, they are also pretty cheap too. Not too long ago I bought one for the srt(ebay knockoff) and once again, it fit perfect and sounds descent.
