no crank at all!!!!!!!!

well here we go again. like i said problem after problem after problem. after replacing the intake gaskets and injectors and everything, the car ran great for a day. i did notice that 2 times after driving it a bit, when starting it up again, it fumbled around but then rev it up a little and ran fine.

but now it just decided not to move. i drove 10 miles up the road to find out what was going on with it, because i though she meant it wouldnt start. i go up to the gas station and find that it wont crank! everything goes black and stops working when the key is turned to crank it except for the ses light. i figured maybe the ignition fuse went out since it did this to me when i accidently pulled that fuse when i wanted to disable the fuel pump and coils. so i check the fuses and not a single on is bad. i go through listening to the relays and all seem to be working, except for the ignition relay(normal size one). when i pull it out the fuel pump primes and when i stick it back in the pump primes again. never once had that relay ever clicked no matter the position of the key. i have checked and everything seems to have voltage but i think has none when the key is turned to crank.

hopefully its just this relay, but i need help with this. anybody know the wiring to that relay? yes i can find the power wire, but i need to know what the other wires do in relation to the relay. also do you know how to check this relay? im not fimiliar with these 4 prong relays. oh and once again its the ignition (IGN) relay.

Re: no crank at all!!!!!!!!

You might want to try the ignition, too, as it's a common failure in most Intrigues.

Re: no crank at all!!!!!!!!

ah, i actually got down to checking it out and eliminated the ignition switch. i then found that the relay was working but my hand was laying on the body so it kind of just grounded it (i have pretty bad feeling in my hands). i then decided to check voltage to the starter and it was fine. thats when i thought, maybe the solenoid is bad.

so i pull the starter out, and as soon as i tilt it out, i hear something move around. the armature is wore out as with the lever for the bendix. i hotwired the starter to the battery and got absolutely nothing. i had auto zone double check it and everytime they went to test it, the circuit breaker tripped so the machine couldnt test it. got a new starter, and started right up. started faster then ever before, and is super smooth starting when it use to be extremely rough.
