Question 328i 1996 convertible

the convertible top does not go down and the sun is shining whats up. there seems to be power to the motor. bowtie77 what i need is wiring diagram for this unit . oh yeah the air bag light is on....

It probabally lost it's initialization. The motors VERY rarely go bad

It's pretty complicated if you've never done it. You need to disengage the motors by pulling the emergency release under the rear seat. Then re-engage them. They are behind the panel in left side of trunk. Are you with me so far?
