98 Sable Transmission problem???

I just replaced both drive axles and bearing hubs. I had great difficulty getting the drivers side knuckle to go back in place, it took two people to get it together. We took it for a test drive and seemed fine, about 4 miles down the road the RPM's went way up and it was just like the car was in neutral. None of the gears worked and when putting it in park there was a grinding noise. Any ideas?

Hi, RE, your grind noise in park & vehicle won't move, The axle you had a hard timr with is NOT in the trans all the way.....See Ya, Clay..
