Want a NASCAR kit for parts...with a twist...

I've had an idea I'd like to explore... I was thinking of a "what if" scenario, and came up with "JASCAR", or imagine if Japan had a NASCAR style series, maybe in the late 60's/early 70's.

Which NASCAR kit, preferably a full tube chassis one, would have a roll cage structure suitable to a Notchback coupe shape - say C10 skyline, C130 Laurel, Cedric, early Chaser etc, maybe even TA22 celica - and good chassis detail? I guessed at maybe an 80's MonteCarlo or something?

I was thinking a KGC10 Skyline GT-X body and a carbed L28 replacing the V8, NASCAR style window strips, sheetmetal rear spoiler and front lip etc.

Sound feasible?
Any ideas on good donor chassis? I realise the rollcage bar work would need tweaking but I'd like to start with something of a similar shape, and it would need to have good interior, suspension, wheels/tyres etc.

For the chassis plate itself, cutting down a standard NASCAR chassis would be pretty easy, or you chould just modify the car's standard chassis plate, which is what NASCAR did until the mid to late 70s.

For the cage, forget about modifying a standard NASCAR cage and just make your own: In the end it will be fewer headaches.
