Oxygen sensor and check engine light

I just changed my rear passenger side oxygen sensor. When can I expect my service engine light to turn off? I don't have a scan tool, so I can't turn the light off myself, I wonder if there is another way to turn it off without a tool. Anyway, I have a 2001 pathfinder. By the way, do you need a special tool to get the front o2 sensor out. It looked pretty tight in there.

actually the front passenger is easy as long as you have the socket for it. autozone rents both the socket and code scanner free you just leave a deposit which you get back. and you can do everything in the parking lot if you want...... i did

I just came back from the dealer. Turns out, there was a TSB on the O2 sensors that is covered under the Emmissions warrenty. They will reprogram the ECM for free (as long as you are still under warrenty). If you are wrong and you don't need a reprogram, then you have to pay 45 bucks. Anyway, I was told that i changed the wrong O2 sensor. The error read bank 2 number 2. This, I was told, was the rear passenger side sensor. Now, I just found out that I got bad information and changed the wrong sensor. My question is this. Was the sensor bad or was it just the program? The dealer offered to replace the sensor for 250 bucks, but I will do it myself if I have to. They gave me 3 codes P0158, P0159, and P0160. I know they have to do with voltage, but do they specifiy what sensor is bad. Anyway, I guess all I can do is drive it until the light pops up again. If It does, hopefully all I have to do is replace it and reset the check engine light. Anyway, if anyone has any advice or insight, please reply.

Go to an auto parts store and have them scan the codes and reset the light for you. All the shops around here do it for free.
