Im new, but with a question.

i have a 88 civic. it has a 4 spd manual trans. but it is a 1.5l do i have a dx or just a standard one? It is a hatchback, there are no emblems on it, because it ws primerd t o be painted when i got it. All i need is a little help thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's an STD. Try looking for the engine code on the block. DX is D15B2, STD might be D15B1, but as long as it isn't a D15B2 then it's STD.

I think STD was the only one with 4spds.

Yea i just found out. I went out there with my flashlight and looked and it said d15b1....... I think i am going to cry. Well i talked it over with the old lady and we decided to do an engine swap. maybe for a dohc vtec... used ofcourse, but i am afraid the wiring will be horable.....

a DOHC ZC engine will bolt right up and the only wiring is rewiring the dist (can't be that hard) and running a wire for the extra cam or something.

does anyone know where i can find a tutorial on the zc swap? i need to know everything involved, i managed to track one down for only 400.00 it is used but only has 23,xxx original miles on it
