New 1999 Alero Two Door Coupe Qwirks + Amp Install?

I gopt a new two door Red 1999 Alero, she is beautiful. However there are a few qwirks about the car I need to figure out maybe someone can help me.

If I press the l;ock door button the car ding's and I shut the door and the car honks the horn and flashes. That is it. There is no alarm. When I start the car and all the dash lights come on I do notice a security light, but it never comes on or flashes. While lifting the car handle nothing happens it doesnt beep or anything.

The car did not come with a remote start/lock. It may have one but I do not know how to tell if it is there. How can I tell, all I have is the key.

Also I am trying to install an amp where is a good place to install the amp cable thru the firewall. I am worried about drilling a hole bcause of leaking, if I have to drill a hole where is a good place and where can I get Rubber plugs to prevent leaks.

first you have a keyless entry system, so no its not an alarm. the only way it will sound off is if the door is opened while the car is locked up. as for the amp wire there should be a rubber boot on the firewall, driver side the you can make a small cut and run your amp wire through there.

So If I do have a keyless entry system how do I go about getting a keyless entry key ring? Do I have to talk to Oldmobile directly to get one made? Oh well let me know.

Not all Alreos have keyless. The best thing is to call the dealer and ask them to run your VIN number to see if it had keyless. Then you can take it from there.

Running power wire, yeah I usually make a small slit through the main power harness that goes through the firewall on the driver's side. It works well so you it won't leak and helps the wire from getting cut from sharp metal. MAKE SURE TO PROPERLY FUSE THE WIRE!
