interior climate fan making a clicky sound

I have a 1999 oldsmobile intrigue and when I turn my fan on, it makes a clicking type of sound as if it is getting clogged up by dust or something...... is there anyway of getting at it and finding out what's making the noise? it sounds just like a computer fan will, when it gets sorta clogged up by dust or something like that....

Re: interior climate fan making a clicky sound

The fan on my '99' intrigue started making noise also. I pulled the fan out, took it apart and greased the bushing - no more noise. To get at the fan you must remove the cover under the pass. side of dash. Move the pass. seat all the way back and contort yourself on your back to get under the dash. The fan bolts weren't that bad to get at but the elec. connector was a PITA to disconnect.
I apparently waited too long to perform this task because the low speed circut on the blower motor resistor blew and I had to replace the resistor. I believe these resistors are a persistant problem with W-Body models. The replacement resistor looked a little different than the orig. but works fine.
