Impala Towing

I was wondering if anyone has installed a trailer hitch on their 00-05 Impala and could give me any recommendations. I know that the max capacity is 1000pds and I only plan on towing a small concession/vending trailer(no more than 600 pds). Any advice on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again-
Tim

Re: Impala Towing

Towing with front drive is bad. But if you need to, add some rear air bags and dont exceed the limit.

Re: Impala Towing

That's no worse than two 200lbs adults in back seat. I tow a 3 seat jet ski and haven't notice any difficilties can't even tell it's there. 1000 lbs occasionally shouldn't pose a problem.
Change trans fluid at regular intervals.

Re: Impala Towing

The 1k limit is based on the strength of the attaching points for the trailer hitch to the body, not the actual ability of the car to pull the weight.
