Am I wrong for this?

OK, my junior prom is coming up in about a month. A few weeks ago we got a new exchange student from Thailand. As chance would have it, she is staying with my grandparents along with another student from mexico(both are H-O-T) I found out she didnt have a date, and planned on asking her to the prom after school. I found out at lunch that one of my best friends had asked her and she accepted. Needless to say a little piece of me got ripped out right there. I went to visit them to ask gramps where he got the dynamat put in his car and they asked me about him, I just let them fill in the blanks. Truth is, she doesn't want to go with him, she just didn't want to hurt his feelings. They wanted me to find a date to go with them and keep an eye on her. I couldnt think of a girl I'd want to take. We had a long conversation about this whole situation when she just offered to go with me. As in, after I told them for the 100th time I couldn't think of anyone, she just said "well, how about me?" I almost shit my pants. There lies the problem. He is a very spiteful person and will more than likely blame me for this when he finds out. My g-parents are calling him today to say that she isn't going with hime because there's somethin in the rules of a minor from another country going with an unfamiliar person.(which there actually is, but they'd let her go if she wanted to) On top of that still, I got a sort of confession from her today...she actually likes me. I'm asking her to dinner later. Am I stealing this girl or what?

Some words of wisdom from people smarter then me...

1) All's fair in love and war.

2) Time heals all wounds.

What I'm trying to say is...your 'friend' will get over it. Go for it. Good luck.

Re: Am I wrong for this?

I've been majorly freaking out over this all last night and today at school. You have no clue(or maybe you do) how hard it was to sit 4 feet away from him in class or across from him at the lunch table. Me and her agreed to go about this in a way that would hurt him the least, but he may end up getting hurt even more than if she'd just turned him down in the first place. For God's sake, he wrote her a long ass love note in school today, I haven't seen anyone do that in ages. On one hand, I've got the girl of my dreams(who is leaving the country at the end of summer I think) and on the other a very dear friend. My mom tells me I'm just too nice and he'll get over it. My mind is racing and arms are quaking(hey, I could write songs for linkin park ) kewl new sig, Rally. And mtm, yours is funny as hell. Reminds me of the crap me and my friends say to to the subs in school.

Re: Am I wrong for this?

Glad you like it. If you don't know it's from an older movie called 'Top Secret'. I was Val Kilmer's first film(I think). Very funny. You should check it out. Late> M.

Re: Am I wrong for this?

Just got back from eating with her. The other dude seemed pissed off, she said. My name wasn't mentioned...but I still have a bad feeling in my gut. I hope this all turns out all right. Oh well, now I gotta get a tux. I'm thinking DC print...

while im in agree ment with you, but #2 should be a completed quote. the original quote has "and yet the scars remain"attached afterward. most people generalize it into that beginning so you can get hope out of an originally upsetting quote. however i think it is in high agreement the girl is yours man. good luck and god speed.

Re: Am I wrong for this?

Welp, he's pretty much stopped talking to me. It doesn't help that I'm falling for her. Fellas, I may be moving to Thailand in June lol.
