Found a GSX :)

Well I a good deal on a school loan cuz I am a "A" student hahaha and I will get 10k. I took the money out because I finally found another GSX for sale locally. It has a stalling problem and the deferential is leaking. I can change the seals on the leaks but I cant figure out why the fuck it is stalling. Hopefully by next week it will be mine. I hope its not about to crankwalk and he is trying to sell it. I also dunt know what it was tuuned and what kind of boost he was running. I hate when it comes to turbo cars because you can never know when your engine will blow and no way to know in what condition the engine is in. I will take risk and buy the beast .

The insurance will be sky high but whatever, I am tired of not boosting.

Re: Found a GSX :)

Why did you take out 10k? How much is this person selling it for?

Re: Found a GSX :)

I'm guessing he took out that large of a loan so he can mod? Pics would be great also.

Re: Found a GSX :)

The only thing I can think of that would make it stall would be him dumping to atmosphere without a MAF-T. I suppose low fuel pressure could do it too.

How is it any different than a no-turbo car? Just get a compression and leak down test, check the turbo's shaft play, do some left turns letting the clutch out, and ask him for any receipts etc for maintenance. And I don't think my insurance went up from my old Grand Prix to my GSX. With your good student status is should be pretty low, under mine which is about $100/mo.

I have had my car for over 3 years and its been dumped to atmosphere every one of those days(bought it that way) and its is pretty much stock. It has never stalled on me. Although I am pretty sure I could get better gas mileage with a MAF-T or recirculated BOV, oh well sounds good and it doesn't cost me anything to leave it the way it is.

Re: Found a GSX :)

Ok Ok I will get pics as soon as possible. The asking price is around 9k but I will say 7000-6500 or nothing. KBB value is 5000 and it has some simple mods. It has been for sale for some time now so I think he will sell it for less. What worries me is that none of my dads mechanics that are in the business for many years know anything about turbos. So I am on my own. But I got a good job and a good car so I think I am ready for the GSX. Besides, I have been waiting long enough to find one. And also how the f*&k do I put pictures on here ? I got a digital camera and I wanna take pics of the GSX tommorow.
