Radiator Flush
I have a 97 GST Eclipse. Can I do a raditor flush myself? I wasnt sure if the system has to be pressurised or if I just drain and fill? Please respond with any helpful tips so I dont have to spend $70.00 to have a shop do it. Thanks

Re: Radiator Flush
Be ready to have a mess when you do it, but yes you can do it yourself. It takes a while if you do it like I do(I dont know any other way without more tools). Drop the lower radiator hose drain into pan/bucket. Hook it back up fill with water start car let it come up to temp and circulate a couple minutes. Then drain and repeat untill the water you are draining is clear. When you go to refill the radiator mix it a little heavy on the coolant(55/45) side to make up for the water in the block. Then get a tester and make sure it meets the temp specs you need it too. Be careful you will be dealing with a pressurized coolant system that will be hot.
