88 S-10 help

I have an 88 S-10 p/u 4x4 4.3 5 spd that I'm having a reoccurring problem with. When the engine gets hot and runs for awhile, it sputters when I try to accelerate. Changed the fuel filter & pump, gas (to 91 or higher octane, no ethanol) and most recently (3 mos ago) had the ignition module? (looks like a cassette tape) replaced. That worked great until today, problem is back. My readings on the battery guage say it's about 16-17 volts. I heard possibly the engine ground is bad ?????????

Thanks ahead of time !!!

Re: 88 S-10 help

Engine ground is possible, also check the fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure regulator is going bad it can act like that as well

Angry Re: 88 S-10 help

OK, have now r/r distributor and ignition p/u. Also tuned up. Still having problems. Seems to be sputtering at different times, 5th gear, going uphill in any gear, or trying to pass someone. PLEEEEAAAASE HEEELLLP! OBP sent you a message, tryin to get a consensus. Do you all think it's the fuel pressure regulator ???????? If so, where is it and I'll try to fix the thing myself, tired of paying to get it "fixed"

Re: 88 S-10 help

Check all vacuum lines for leaks and look at choke valve when cold and warmed up.
