Hi, a have a maxima 2000, but the car have a older (i think 97-99) transmission cause the valve box and park neutral switch arness doesn't match, the car has a problem and appeared to be a transmission problem. Can be the older transmission the cause?

- exact tranny type - current problem? - has this setting ever been working correctly? - if so, why now wiring problems - are ECU & TCU original? - what exactly doesnt match - show pics, wire colors - etc U have to research: To find all info & schemas, clic clic clic via 'Favorite Links', see below

* the tranny is a RE4F04A * the problem is present sice i buy the car when the overdrive come in about 40 miles per hour the car star shaking a little bit but only if i hold that speed (40-45 mph) * the TCU and ECU are the original ones * the original wires of the valve box end sith the socket at the top of the tranny, and these one, don't have the socket in the tranny, the socket is about one feet long outside the tranny and the wires color don't match the original arness of the valve Box |

- TCU's have serial no & version. Certain TCU's fit with certain ECU's, trannys. Nissan TSB's have compatibility lists: these have to be crosschecked. - Nissan manuals (see mentioned links) have wiring schemas for that tranny. I guess (? check out) the solenoid qty and control doesnt differ, if so rewiring needs just tedious 'paperwork preparation.' Find out, print schemas & add color to wirings between A/T-TCU ...compare to actual wiring. After getting this info right, mark wires, cut connectors, solder and tape (use one layer of self vulcanizing rubbertape. - seek history, call previous owner/repairshop: who did what and why; has it ever worked? If this problem was hidden, if possible, demand your money back. - As/If all gears, overdrive working, tells that possibly nothing wrong with the wiring... - The gearbox has self diagnostics. Find it out from the manual, buy/lease tester: self diag will not go through if TCU tst cannot exercise all functions through. Question: does the gearlock engage after warmup, steady drive 50mph??? Problem II, Mechanical Shaking: - if this tranny is 'unfit', maybe axles now sit in wrong angle? This might become a costly issue, bearings & axles might wear soon out. Anyways, here you need a mech pro to check out, and give opinion. You may just keep on driving and never have any problems but this shaking, who knows but doesnt tell... - Worst case: align or scrap the tranny, get original 2-3k$? |
