Question Lower gears or better Chip??

i have a 96 taco with a 2.7L and i put 33 in tires on it. also it is a automatic and it is in need of some help. it wants to change gears all the time and it is not so good on gas. i was wondering if i should put lower gears on it or up grade my chip?? thanks for the help.

Put new gears in it or your gonna strain that auto tranny. Not sure how much the gears are gonna help with the mpg but they will bring back the power loss with the bigger tires. I would replace the gears just to help the tranny.

thanks for the advice, i think i am going with some new gears. the tranny needs some help.
