WIP:1976 Lamborghini Silhouette

Remember the Mid Engine late 70- 80 V-8 Bulls?? I do.. I remember this kit when it was in the original Gunze Sangyo Japanese version in curbside form. Later Testors reboxed it under their name.. I aquired one off ebay pretty cheap. The tires and wheels in the kit are pretty anemic. I also picked up off ebay, a really cool set of OZ style Lambo wheels and tires for a Countach... the rear tires are massive.... so massive I will need to modify the chassis to make the rear tires fit!! But who cares?? its curbside right?? This one will be painted a CObra colors exclusive color. "Dragon Fire Pearl" It is a shimmering loud orange pearl that gets sprayed over black basecoat... Cant wait to see this paint!!

Here is the car in grey primer after I cleaned it up a bit and mocked up like usual

Re: WIP:1976 Lamborghini Sihlouette

I look forward to your build. I have to get myself another one of these kits. What an awesome car.
Not sure if you watch much of Miami Vice, but in Season 2 they have an episode called Phil the Shill. In that episode Phil Collin's drives this exact car in white. That's what sold me on that car.
Good Luck!!

Re: WIP:1976 Lamborghini Sihlouette

This is my favorite Lambo. I hope someone makes a better kit someday, but I guess that's a long shot. My completed one is shown below. Minimal work done to it, and it wears Viper wheels.

Yours should look good in an orange based color. I'll be looking for more updates.

Re: WIP:1976 Lamborghini Sihlouette

Here is a little more fo ya

Thanks guys.......

The body is painted and cleared, now it needs to cure for a week. The cobra color "Dragon Fire Pearl" is definitely a exotic color... pics do not do it justice.. it is highly metallic, but in bright light it has gold shimmery flake to it... very cool... be prepared, you need to put alot of the paint over black basecoat to get the coverage even. But its worth it!!

The Fire Pearls are a dream to work with, aren't they? I loved them when I used them.
