Wink 89 camaro starting problem

this is my first post. i recently bought an 89 camaro with a V8 305. the car ran without any problems, nice, fast, loud .................for the first 3days
the car started taking longer and longer to start as each day whent by. the first days when i started having trouble i would turn the key and hear a "click" after a few attempts of just hearing the "click" i would finally here the engine start to come alive. it would try to turn over but it wouldnt quite make it. so after a few more trys it would finally start. but as the days whent buy the attempts were longer and longer more just clicking instead of turning over, but eventually it did, the longest it ever took i think was 20 minuites. so here is where the trouble began. i was driving the car to school and out of nowhere it stalled in the middle of the road(its never stalled before)
so i had to get the car towed. its been in the shop for 4 days now. they replaced the starter( it WAS bad) but after they did that they lost all power to the car. that was the first out of 4 days it was in the shop. 3 days they spent just looking at it and trying to figure out what was wrong with it.(batterys good etc etc all power scources good) i just kep getting phone calls "we cant find the problem" . i even whent to the shop to see just what they were looking at. even gave the guy the manaul (ironically sitting on the front seat) then after llooking at that they spent another day and still nothing. so i was wondering if any one could tell me their ideas on what the problem was??
thanks

Re: 89 camaro starting problem

Fuseable link ('s) fried. They are down by the starter in the wiring and look like a big old horse pill.
