1993 325i - good reliable car?
Hi everyone,
I am currently looking to replace my current car (1995 Ford Taurus). I am looking for something reliable, easy to maintain, relatively cheap on gas, and fun to drive. There is a 1993 325i for sale for just under 7k canadian. This seems like a resonable price and I am interested in looking at this car. I have never been in a BMW, let alone driven one, so I have no idea what to expect. I know they are well made german cars, but will a 13 year old Bimmer be riddled with issues? or are they rock solid for a long time? any advice would be apreciated. thanks

Re: 1993 325i - good reliable car?
I would say the three series are the most realiable and easiest to repair. This is a 13 year old car so shocks, suspension bushings, AC compressor brake pads and rotors are going to need servicing (if they already haven't been serviced). The engines are good for around 300,000 miles (I have 156,000 on my 1990 325) ad the auto transmissions for around 200,000. These cars are reliaable and relatively easy to work on even with the fuel pump buried in bottom of the tank.

Re: 1993 325i - good reliable car?
yes its still a bmw but dont expect 2 much from that old car.
i`ve got 1993 honda civic coupe and 2000 bmw 323i sedan......i love my bmw....but if i was u i would go with a honda civic.....engine will last much longer, will take less gas, parts will be much cheaper(just look around urself..hondas r everywhere,u can just go to the scrap yard and get parts of them)...... so what i`m trying to say is that : 1.parts r cheaper 2.gas mileage is better yeah....and one more thing if u decide to go with a honda.....make sure ur getting standart......i`ve got automatic.....and its slowwwwwwwww.... k man......do a little research......and hope for the best..... good luck |
