I know a good amount about dsm's.. but i cant figure this one out.. haha its funny cause i got there and he was telling me that he thinks he needs a bigger radiator! haha i just laughed but any ways he has a new water pump, thermastat, i flushed the fluid and put some new stuff in.. changed the oil and put in purple royle full synthetic... his fan kicks on when it should but its still getting way hot.. any ideas? i dont know much about tunning with the stand alone unit.. but my guess is i need to change somthing..

Re: haha over heating

Does the lower hose get sucked flat at all? Could be blockage in the radiator, thats all I can think of at the moment

Re: haha over heating

Only thing left I can think of mechanically is blown HG, really dirty fins on the rad, or he bought a bad thermostat. His hoses in good shape? Did you look to see if they were collapsing.

Re: haha over heating

If it was the head gasket the hoses would have alot of pressure in them at idle within a few seconds of start up so if it does thats probably the problem

Re: haha over heating

if everything is new then it is limited to what it could be, A, blown head gasket, B. Blockage somewhere, or C. Theres air in the system, and probably something else that I'm forgetting

Re: haha over heating

You may not believe this, but I have found the problem sometimes is the cap. Pressurized water has a higher boiling point, so if the cap won't allow pressure to build......then the boiling point is lower.
