Oil level sensor location

Hello...

I have a 1996 Grand Am SE (2.4L engine) that I purchased recently. Does anyone know where the oil level sensor is located on this vehicle? The Check Oil light is on, but the level of oil is fine so I'm assuming the sensor is bad.

Thanks!

down on the oil pan, should be real close to the bottom.
Might also just be caked with road grime and not making contact.

Cool, thanks. Do you know if I have to take the oil pan off to get to it? That is, is it inside the oil pan? I'm assuming it would have to be...

NO you dont hav to remove the oil pan.
It should just screw out with a socket, not sure what size it is exactly .
Might be messy though, oil will run out, so it might not be a bad idea to drain the oil first.
