My wife drives a '97 Chevy Lumina. We have been having an issue with the AC system. The air distribution has been acting up. When you step on the gas with the fan on, and the vents selected, the air will start coming out through the floor outlets and / or the defrost outlets. I am suspecting some sort of vacuum leak as this will also occur when going uphill with the cruise control on (which results in a throttle opening = manifold vacuum decrease). Does anyone have any ideas on how to chase this down?

Re: Heating Control System
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The window/floor prob sounds like a vacuum leak... trace the lines off the upper intake... there is a "T" connector that usually goes bad.... like mine did but also could be a crack in 1 of the lines also.... hope it helps... good luck Ck other postings as there is always something about this subject...
