Got $4400 NEED some new wheels

Hey Im 16 and I need myself a first car, I have $2200 saved up but my dad is matching me what I made so I have 4,400 total. Anyways, I was just lookin for some options. This will be my only transportation so I want it to be reliable and it has to be manual. And I have a job so I will be looking to modify it gradually. Some of the cars I was thinking of were: Acura Integra GSR (do you think a 93+ B18 powered GSR or a 90-93 B17 powered GSR), 95+ Eagle Talon TSI (I've been doing alot of online research and the 4G63 sounds like a badass motor to start modifying), S13 240SX coupe any quick import that has big aftermarket and is reliable for 4,400 or under. Any other suggestions?

Re: Got $4400 NEED some new wheels

Insurance is going to be very high on an Integra and a GS-R model will probably raise it even further. The Talon probably isn't going to be very reliable, and the 240sx in stock form isn't very fast, but out of the three that's the one I'd go with. My personal suggestion would be a Nissan Maxima, a 92-94 SE or 95+ model.

Re: Got $4400 NEED some new wheels

There's a '94 GSR coupe w/ a B16 Turbo swap in town fur 4,300, but a 92-95 Max SE sounds nice too, tell me more, how fast is the Max in those years, are there any other years (like older ones) that are as fast, because the less I have to spend the better.

Okay, I was looking on ebaymotors.com and I like the look of the 95+ Maximas alot better than the previous years. So what are the good Maxima trims? do these cars take well to forged induction? Were can I go online to purchase aftermarket parts?

Yes, they have the same engine as the 300ZX. BP2KMax will be able to tell you what the exact name is. I had an 89 and loved it!...Until the lady that decided not to pay attention in a mini van. But now I have a new car and love it! The Maxima is a good choice. Quick, reliable, and pretty big aftermarket. Stay away from the Talon or any DSM in general, not very relaible. You may enjoy the 240SX, despite the lack of power because it is RWD, however everyone wants a 240SX, manual, with low mileage and that tends to drive the price up. Trust me, the difference between a 240SX and an Integra isn't that big of a deal. Atleast the Nissan knows what torque is.

I'd look for an SE model that's the sportiest one, I don't know how well they take to FI although I know there are several turbo kits for them, and you can go to stillen, nopi, ebay, and various other places.

Check on insurance, but if you can afford it, then the GSR will be a really nice car for you.

Probably not gonna find many talon TSI/Eclipse GSX for 4,400.. at least not in any decent shape.
