Auto headlights go out

97 aurora is getting on my nerves. When vehicle is started the lights come on fine whether drl or night lights. 2 minutes later they go out. The only way the auto headlights come back on is with the headlight switch. The LCM was replaced because the connector melted and the LCM did also. The DRL only come on when the car is in drive if it is in day mode. Have power to perimeter lighting fuse until this happens then it is gone with the lights. Have power to the LCM all the time on input 12v line but loose it on the out line that feeds the perimeter fuse. Have any ideas what to do next? The park lights and dash dimming lights all go out at this time as well.Tried a light sensor and another LCM. Also tried a remote function actuation module but made no difference.

Re: Auto headlights go out

Do a search for "headlights" and click the thread "aurora strange problems". Within that thread if you scroll down is a fix from Thumpin455 that has cured a lot of headlight issues and is cheap. May be worth a try.

Re: Auto headlights go out

the switches in most GMs of that era are Sh*t.
Seems as tho alot were made in Mexico.
Perhaps the timer for delay is flaky, mines been replaced about 3 times.
I just sold a 99GTP that had same problem and the dashlights and taillights
would go out.
turns out the dash light dimmer reostat was burned into one position(full on) so I worked it up and down on dimming and it cured all problems.
Now as a habit I get in any of my GMs, I work the dimmer up and down a few times to clean contacts.
