Mix-n-match shocks

If i got kyb gr-2 struts with a better rear shock like bilstien, would it work fine or is it better to stay with the same brand for both? i just didnt want to pay so much for struts.

Re: Mix-n-match shocks

i don't think it will matter, as long as they are both for stock specs, or they are both hold the same weight.

Re: Mix-n-match shocks

well if i got the adjustable ones, i could just change the stiffness. i think that $250 per performance strut is crazy so i'll go with the kyb that are only 100

Re: Mix-n-match shocks

Front versus rear won't pose any problems. But never-never mismatch side to side.

Re: Mix-n-match shocks

Front and rear suspension on my car has been completely dropped. Had some dead weight bilsteins in the back, with the original struts from 1987 up front. My pops took off the front control arms and guess what? The ball joint on the pass. side just fell out!!! Changing everything this weekend, new bolts (the old stuff just cannot be put back on), poly bushings and the works. She should be riding as if she came out of the factory, actually, alot better when i get those subframes on there.
