Antenna / 98 CAD ELDO
My antenna that should automatically retrack, does not.
The antenna stays in the extended position. When I cut the radio off or the engine off I can hear the antenna motor go through its cycle of retracting or extending the antenna however the antenna does not move. 1.) Is there some easy action I can perform to get it unstuck? 2.) How much should I expect to pay to have it repaired?? |

Re: Antenna / 98 CAD ELDO
most power antennas have a plastic cable made on to the mast. If it breaks, the motor will still run, but the mast wont move. Can you push the antenna down or up by hand? By looking in the GM catalogue, you will need to replace the antenna assembly.

Re: Antenna / 98 CAD ELDO
From another board.....
FWIW YMMV "Antenna repair parts for GM If the motor still works but the mast doesn't go up and down.. Then the nylon cable inside the motor is broken, they are easily rebuild-able. You can get the nylon cable repair kit from your friendly GM Dealer (part # 22038195) for $14.74 (list)... This requires that you remove and take the power antenna motor apart... Which requires drilling out about 6 hollow rivets.. BTW YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR THE PART NUMBER... Do not ask if this piece fits our cars... your average dealer will tell you it doesn't... Trust me... It does" |

Re: Antenna / 98 CAD ELDO
that part number is not listed for that year and make. they used that for the earlier model cars. I do not believe it will work on a 98
