5w30 vrs. 5w50 in 2000 LeSabre
Hi guys. My mom has a mechanic change her oil but supplies her own oil. She just realized that she accidentally bought synthetic 5w50 instead of 5w30.
Is this going to cause a problem? Should she have it changed immediately, or is it not a big deal? Thanks in advance!

Some like synthetic better, claiming it holds up better and longer than conventional oil. It's definately going to be just fine, but its all a matter of preference as far as whether you use dino oil or synthetic.

I would not worry about it! The higher viscosity (50) is for hotter climates; however 5W is still 5W regardless.
