EGR Valve?--Repeatable Stalling Problem
I have a 1999 Aurora.
It stalls whenever I am stopped with the gear in drive and the temperature reaches 190. If I am driving when the temperature reaches 190 nothing happens and the car never stalls. As soon as the temp reaches 190 the RPMs drop down to about 300 and then the car stalls. Sometimes I can catch it by quickly hitting the gas, sometimes it catches itself. It is definitely repeatable and usually just happens once. After I have been driving awhile it won't stall. Thanks. |

Re: EGR Valve?--Repeatable Stalling Problem
sticky EGR valves are a common issue. pull it off and clean it with throttle body spray. http://www.howardm.net/dred98/egr.php

Re: EGR Valve?--Repeatable Stalling Problem
What ended up happening was the computer was sending a bad signal to the transmission fluid temperature sensor and that caused the engine to shut down. I think whenever it stalled the temp was reading -30F.
