Anyone here have their rust fixed?

I know you guys have to have some rust on your cars. I got it in the classic 1/4 panel spots. Now I know cutting it out and welding a new piece is the real way to go but that costs like $900 and I don't know if that is per side or not. My rust is mostly surface, it's not all the way through. So if I went to a bodyshop could they sand it and maybe fill it in with Bondoglass and stuff. And for how much?

I'm a DIY guy but shit like that seems like it takes some skill, and if I fuck it up it will cost me mad $$$.

But did it work well, can you tell it was bondoglassed? Has any more rust showed up?

rust is something for the body shop to do, not the do it yourselfer unless you've had a body shop class. Get it taken care of quick too, because once rust starts on these cars it spreads like wildfire in the winter.

I was taught how to do it right by a friend with a shop. but basically i cut out the rust spot, welded a new piece in and used bondo and you cant tell anything. the guy that tought me has the NICEST truck ever. he cut out the floor of the truck and bed and droped it down 3 inches lower into the body. when you look at the truck from the side you cant tell that its done, but when your in it your sitting on the ground. its sick

fixed thousands of honda rust spots

heres my suggestion from experience. if you have some rust get a small sand blaster and start blasting!!! if the surface rust comes of and you didn't blow a hole through anything, smooth it out with body filler and you are good to go. if it blasts right throuhg the panel you need to weld new metal in. you can try and put filler in htere but i guarantee in a 3 month it will bubble and fall out then it will look even worse. when i fix rear quarter rust on hondas i just try and find a front fender to the matching car!! i fixed my civic with a front fender from a accord, just make sure the body lines are the same and the arch is similar, then cut it out and piece it in, but i don't recommend doing this unless you have body shop skills, or you can end up making it even worse than the look of rust!!!!!
