Depends on your gearing. If it is a 3:23 you will top out at about 128. If it is a 3:55 you will top out just over 120. I think the mustang will take you both ends. We have a lot of PI's in our fleet and thay are not a racer from the factory.

Re: Fast as anything on the road??

I see your car picture now. That's a nice clean lookin' car?

So did the kid's Mustang beat ya?

That reminds me of a story...I raced a guy in late 80's "stang" 5.0 at a stop light about 15 years ago, but I wasn't driving my cruiser then. Needless to say, I beat him in my 1979 Firebird Formula 6.6, but I could hear him back there so I just held my foot to the floorboard until the two lanes merged into one. Race over! The Vicki is more of an open road car (pursuit interceptor) than a drag racer. Fast and quick are two different things.

What would the gearing be on my 2003 CVPI. The thing tops out at well over a 140 MPH. I mean the speedometer was buried at a 140 and still accelerating.

Re: Fast as anything on the road??

Hi jimbo. Your Vic should have the 3:23 gears. I don't place a lot of faith in the speedometer reading although they are supposedly certified. We chech ours with radar and a scanner to be sure the speedo and the vehicle speed are the same. Someone may have reprogrammed the PCM to give more top end, but a stock CVPI will not run at that speed.
