'06 Sonata Fuel Efficiency Changing

Well, it was discussed in another thread but I'm here to report that our fuel mileage took a jump at 2000 miles on the odometer. When brand new, the car averaged 24.5mpg, now it averages 27.6mpg under the exact same driving conditions. Hopefully it'll go up further? I'll watch.

That's great! I'm planning on buying one this week. fuel economy is one of the major points for me.

BTW, what are your driving conditions?

We live in west texas, so it's about 80-90% highway. I can't say enough about the car, I'm very impressed.

Check your oxygen sensor/catalitic converter. I've heard that a bad oxygen sensor can cause your gas mileage to go up(a good thing), but it may cause some problems in the future.
