Odometer stuck

I have a 1998 e-350 with a 5.4 and the odometer has stopped moving. I pulled it apart and just bumped it over and then it works fine until it rolls around to 80 miles again then gets stuck. Also the trip will work when i bump the odometer then stops when the odometer does.
