Short of Breath

Lately, i have been really really short of breath, even when i'm just chillin 'n doin nothing like right now. I've had sinus problems for the past week now, and it's a problem eating cuz i can't chew my steak and breathe, so i get really tired of eating in general. I've taken DXM, Pseudoephedrine, used Vicks chest rub... i can't help it. Anyone know what i could do that'd help? (beside visiting a doctor? been there done that. much help that was...)

Re: Short of Breath

Yeah, find a different doctor....not all doctors suck and you could have bronchitis or pneumonia. Any rattling in your chest when you breath in or out quickly? Make the appointment today.

Re: Short of Breath

i'm looking through my insurance's list for an ENT doctor. closest one that'd cover me is about 2 hours away. I'm pretty sure its just really bad sinusitis, and he'll just prescribe some allegra or something of the sort, maybe another type of decongestant. No, no rattling in the chest, just really short of breath from time to time. like no matter how deep you breathe, it still feels insufficient. ne way, i'm checking it out.

Re: Short of Breath

Dude, if you can't take in enough air, it's not your ears, nose or throat. Get yourself to a general practitioner first and let him send you to the specialist you need to see. Don't delay.

Re: Short of Breath

Hes right....At best you could have Athsma (sp)

It could be something serous starting and you might be able to nip it in the bud right now.

Do you exercise, or do you smoke?

Re: Short of Breath

I've got an appointment with a general practice doc for friday. I used to smoke about a pack every two weeks. i still smoke, but VERY rarely. it came across as this might be a reason, and i'm sure it contributes, but i really think its just sickness, as i've come down with quite a nasty fever just now. I also work out, about 3 times a week. i do very little cardio, unfortunately.
