Exclamation Oil pressure light is on!!!

I just got my plug wires replaced and my s/c tensioner replaced and after I picked it up, I drove it around for a while and went back to work. When I was leaving work the oil pressure light came on. I checked the oil level and it was fine (it's time for an oil change, but otherwise, level's ok). There was no oil leaking. What do you think the problem could be?

Re: Oil pressure light is on!!!

You mean the low oil pressure warning lamp on the cluster, not the oil change interval warning on the DIC, correct? Did the car start making bad noises, like rattling or clattering? If not, I'd say it's an unrelated issue, and the oil pressure sending unit went bad. If the engine is making noise, I'd suspect a possible oil pump problem (again, unrelated to the other work done). Do not drive the car anymore if this is the case, as you could blow it up.

Thanks for the info. The sending unit was cracked, so thank God it wasn't the oil pump.
