For all of us in the rust belt. Try your spare tire hoist periodically, mine would not lower the spare, created a hell of an issue getting the tire down, The hoist was corroded and rusted up internally, had to replace it on my 2002 TB, 78.00, made in in Isreal, nice huh, American Jobs!!

Re: Some info
Hey good call Max. Those winches can be a royal pita after a bunch of years in service
. Is it a cable or chain winch on the TB's? It's amazing how much crud sits in/on the spare tire rim .Joel

Re: Some info
Cool. I know my rodeo (mostly GM parts) had a vinyl coated chain hoist. Those would lock up tighter than a drum just the same if you didn't *exersize* them.

Re: Some info
if you have a rear mount spare like i do you might want to lossen and tighten the lug nuts every once in awhile too. my wife had a flat and couldn't get the spare off. took a breaker bar with a pipe extension to break it free.
i bought five tires this time and put the spare into the rotation pattern so it shouldn't happen again. |

Re: Some info
Words to the wise, be very careful if you crawl underneath and try to get the tire down.
I had an 04 TB and when I was changing a tire, the whole thing broke and nearly took my head off. |
