Re: Flickering dome light

Pretty common, the dome light switches are notorious for going bad. Not that hard to replace though, they are the long pin switches on the sides of the dash.

Make sure the door panels are tight on the front edge where they contact the switch - plastic push pins hold on. Also the headlight switch also controls the dome light and delay circuit and often goes bad. Chevy put an override dome light button on it so kinda makes you wonder.

Is your driver-side door sagging. Very common problem. Ever hear the "door is ajar" sound? Check the hinge pins. are the pin holes egg shaped?

Re: Flickering dome light

Put all of the windows down, (gives you something to grab on to) close the doors tightly and try to move each door, (near the rear edge of each one) in and out and watch the dome light. It will probably come on, or blink, and that will be the bad switch! Same program on the rear hatch.

Re: Flickering dome light

Dome light circuit is hot all the time, the switch supplies ground to turn the light on.

Re: Flickering dome light

I think it might be the tail gate. I turned off the light in the back and it stoped. How hard is this to fix?

Re: Flickering dome light

Does this vehicle have a tailgate that folds down and the glass lifts up, or does the whole hatch lift up?
