Having trouble with a loose fuse...

On my mothers 1998 Honda Accord, I'm having trouble with a loose fuse in the fuse panel. I know what the problem is. When I look at where the fuse is supposed to go, the piece of metal that holds the fuse in is gone, I'm thinking that it fell into the back of the fuse panel. I made a crappy diagram to show what it kind of looks like.

______
[ ___ ] This is what the housing for the loose fuse looks like...

______
[[___]] This is what a normal housing looks like...

^----- The second & third [,]'s are the pieces of metal that hold the fuse in place and make contact with the wiring in the fuse panel...

My question is this, how easy is it to open a fuse panel to replace these two pieces of metal? or is it better just to buy a new fuse panel?

I would try to get the panel out to see what was going on. You may get parts from the junk yard.
Just make sure you take the battery cables off to disable the air bag. It sounds like your car has one.

I was wondering, do you think I'm better off getting a new fuse box assembly? I've got no idea how much $ and or work I'll have to put into it. Doesn't seem like it would be to difficult.

Well I personally always try to save money. Not to say that I actually like to do it myself. That is why I suggested you to take it apart first. The fuse panel is most likely the DEALER ITEM. It means that you will pay dearly for it.

If you are not able to fix it yourself, try junk yard first.
