my battery voltage goes up and down.mornings is high about 14.5 volts or alittle less.during the day it is about 12 to 13 14 then sometimes it goes from 12 to 14 fast it keeps going then 13 to 12,,12 to 14 ,,14 to 13 and so on.my belt is ok ,not loose or to tight.i replaced the altertator.its a brand new one.does anyone know.can it be the ELD.electronic load detector??????????

If you got a new alternator then it sounds like a bad votage regulator (unless your's is built in). What kind of car is it?

ita a 2000 honda accord ex v6.is it hard to change it.will it affect my car performance??

Why do you feel you have a problem? Is your battery going dead? Voltage out of the alternator will vary based on engine speed and also current draw as determined by the ELD, so I would expect some changes. The only thing that can be said for sure is that the alternator should put out about 14.5 volts when the engine is running above 2000 RPM and when the battery needs charging.
