97 center cap paint

The center caps on my 97 runner are losing their paint revealing the unsightly yellowish/grey plastic underneath. I would like to remove the remaining paint and repaint these instead of spending $$$ for new ones. Anyone have any suggestions??

Be careful with this stuff it melts the plastic so work quick and sparingly in a VENTILATED area!
