Fuel Filter Removal

What tool or method is required to remove the hose coupling from one end of the fuel filter on a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am? The coupling has a green locking tab that can be released by pushing back a tab. It seems like a tool is needed to insert in the area of the locking tab.
