Air compressor

I am wanting to get into auto painting. What kind of air compressor do I need to do the job right. We have one at Advance Auto and its like 5hp 40psi, but it just looks too small. Any suggestions....

10 gal will work. what size do you have.gal?

The one at work is 5 gallon I believe. So your saying that if I wanted to paint even a full size truck that 10 gallons would be enough. Thanks for the help man.

Also, what is the SCFM that I need. I found a nice 30 gallon at sears and it has 4.0 SCFM@ 90pfi

I beleve that you will need approx 20psi for the out put. Its the gal in the tank, so the the moter does not keep running, and you would have to wait till it is done. as far as the sprayer it self, not sure really which one to use. Sorry.
