cat help

I want to take off my cat on my 96 bird and get a scrambler or delete the rear o2 codes. if i did take it off would it mess with the front o2 sensor? would a high flow cat be better? if so, or not, where is a good place to get a REASONABLE priced one?

Re: cat help

well when my cat is on a bird, i usally pick the cat up and throw him lol, now to get back to cars on 96 i think there is a 02 sensor either on or after the cat right? if so there are by pass things you can buy from jegs so the o2 sencer gets a reading.

yes, my car has one before and after the cat. ive seen the sensor things but if i take the cat off then will it somehow mess with the first o2 sensor, throwing the reading off? or will it not do anything

Re: cat help

no, if you get that by pass thing for the second, it will not mess with the first one.

Re: cat help

i dont know.....you would think that it would still mess with the computer by not recieving a reading. but im not sure. I ended up just buying one of those that you have to splice in. One of those universal fits. I hope it works, i got it from jegs.

Re: cat help

i got my cat taken off yesterday but now i got another question. do i even need the o2 sim if it doesn't throw the check engine light? cuz i drove it a total of 60 miles yesterday after i got my cat taken off and it didn't seem to do anything. should i stick on the sim anyway, just in case its dumping too much gas or anything like that and its just not showing?
