timming

i had the timming belt changed on my sons car and it runs ruffer than before it was changed, i took it back to the repair shop and they said it will run ruff until the computer adjusts itself, is this true?

no. they have the belt off a tooth. make em fix it.

Blake makes a great point about getting it in writing.If a shop tells you something but is hesitant about putting it in writing that should tell you something about their credibility.I've got a story about a Ford dealership that would blow your mind,but since there is nothing in writing there was'nt much we could do about it.

They've definitely got it off by a tooth. When I replaced the front oil seal on mine I did the same thing...fortunately i had a hunch to crank it before i put it all back together. It cranked and ran but it was skipping and revving up all by itself...really rough sounding. One tooth makes a lot of difference.
Sounds like you've got one jewel of a repair shop...
