S15 Sylvia Drift Project
Hi Guys
In between my other plastic model projects i do a little bit of touring car racing as well. Ive given it a bit of a break and havent been to a local club meet for quite sometime. I own a few touring cars both nitro and electric. Just like most guys out there you ocassionally get burned out racing and so on and take a bit of a break. Well.... until recently I noticed that theres been a huge resurgence in RC car drifting. Ive always known that it exist but didnt know how big it really was. A few guys i know have left the track and go back to justr plain old having fun meeting up for drift expression sessions in the car park. i had a drive of my friends drifter and it was really awesome. I decided to have a dig a round my garage and see what i could use as a dedicated drifter,I found an old Kyosho TF3 Type R and picked up an HPI S15 Sylvia body. Well here is the result after painting and detailing the body. I wanted to build a clean drifter, im happy with the way it looks,im still undecided with the wing cant find anything i like yet. The white and goild wheels i think matches up quite well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's a close up of the simulated carbon fibre i airbrushed in the hood.It was done with black and gunmetal. ![]() Anyway next will be the chassis setup, wiring and other electronic stuff. Any one interested in drifting give it a go its cheap and its a hell off a lot fun. Ill post more pics of the chassis once i figure out what gear im droping in this baby.Feedback, questions or comments are always appreicated. |
