Cummins help

I have a '90 D250 with the Cummins engine that I am working on the frame of and would like to know if there is an engine stand available, or if anyone has an idea on how to construct one. I have been throwing around some thoughts of welding together some sort of cradle that would bolt to the motor mounts such that it would sit high enough (about 10 inches or so) off of the ground to facilitate removal of the oil pan. The engine alone has a dry weight of 880lbs., and I'd hate to have it come crashing down! All of your thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob

you can buy one for 70-80 bucks at checker or schucks. As long as it is the one that is good for @ 1000lbs or more. I have one from there and had a friends ford deisel on it and currently have a 460 on it. It will be plenty strong enough. It will probably be cheaper than buying the steel to build one.
