Question 97 Avngr - Headlight Question

Is the 97 Avenger headlight sealed?
can I change just the lightblub instead of the entire headlight?
To a brighter (or diff colour?)

It's winter at the moment & the last thing i want to do is pull it apart just to find out....one of us must have had to already changed theirs.

Thanks
Anissa

The bulb is not sealed inside the headlight. It can be taken out from behind the headlight assembly. Just twist the wire connector on the back of the headlight counterclockwise and pull. The bulb will come out then disconnect the harness clip from the bulb. There will be two bulbs on each headlight, one for high beam and one for low beam so pull which ever one you want to replace. Now, the headlight assembly is sealed but you can pull it apart buy putting it in the oven for about 6-8 minutes at about 200 degrees on a pan sitting on a towel. This will melt the glue enough to make it soft so you can pull the clear housing from the rest of the assembly. The only reason you would want to pull the headlight apart would be to take out the orange corner lense to make it clear or if you wanted to paint the black bezel on the inside though.
